Pickle lines are one of the most demanding operations in metal processing, needing to process a wide range of hot-rolled grades and thicknesses without changing knives. ASKO side trimmers, scrap choppers, upcut knives, shear knives and welder die assemblies are used in pickle lines because they are specifically designed for each unique application.

Grades

ASKO knives are custom produced for each application. Knives are available in a wide range of materials and are selected and heat treated to match the demands of line environmental conditions, strip characteristics, and shear/side trimmer design. Knife material families include shock resisting tool steels, high carbon high chrome tool steels, high-speed tool steels, particle metallurgy grades and tungsten carbides.

Designs

ASKO knives are available in a range of designs. ASKO produces knives to mill builder designs, user modified designs, complex custom knife designs and in many situations can offer design advice for improved performance. Tungsten carbide knives are available in both solid and composite designs.

Reconditioning

ASKO provides complete reconditioning services for all ASKO products including welder dies.
