EdgeMaster II™ - eSWiM

eSWiM works with EdgeMaster II and SWiM to improve the recording and importing of mult width measurements. With previous versions of SWiM, the actual widths would be recorded by hand onto a sheet of paper.  Then, they would be entered into SWiM one-by-one, resulting in manual error that reduced the effectiveness and reliability of the data.  eSWiM was designed to increase the effectiveness of SWiM by reducing the risk of manual errors and eliminating typos, thus making the data more reliable. Since the actual mult widths are imported from the Pocket PC device, the time it takes to enter the actual mult widths in SWiM has been greatly reduced. In addition to the actual mult width, edge conditions also may be entered into the Pocket PC device. After entering each actual width, a screen with a range of edge conditions is displayed. When an edge is selected, it is assigned to the current mult width. The edges are imported with the actual widths. Predicting edge conditions has never been easier.

eSWiM Hardware

eSWiM uses multiple pieces of hardware that ASKO provides.  However, ASKO does not provide the digital caliper that is needed to take full advantage of eSWiM. Instead, we recommend the following list of approved calipers from Mitutoyo and Starrett.

For optimal performance, a Mitutoyo caliper is suggested.

Minimum Desktop Computer Requirements For eSWiM

The minimum hardware requirements for eSWiM are:

• Microsoft® Windows® 2000 or higher
• 20-40 MB available hard disk space
• USB Port
• CD-ROM drive

If there are no USB ports, the Pocket PC can be connected through a serial port.  Additional hardware not included with the Pocket PC will be required.
